Irish woman splits from her 300-year-old pirate ghost husband

If you think your love life isn’t going so well, we are here to tell you it could be much worse. Irish woman Amanda Teague married her sweetheart in 2018, but he just so happened to be a 300-year-old ghost.

Amanda, from Drogheda, Co. Louth, married ‘Jack’ - a Haitian ghost-pirate -  on international waters off the Irish coast last year. She claimed that he was her ‘soulmate’. Jack was executed for crimes relating to piracy in the 1700s.

Amanda had previously spoken to The Irish Post  about how she has spent £4,000 to look like Captain Jack Sparrow from Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean, before meeting the pirate of her dreams. In 2015, she legally changed her name to Amanda Sparrow.

Sadly, after less than a year of marriage, the pair have called it quits the Irish Mirror reports.

Amanda took to social media to share the news and her reasons:

“So I feel it’s time to let everyone know that my marriage is over.

“I will explain all in due course but for now all I want to say is be VERY careful when dabbling in spirituality, it’s not something to mess with.”

Sounds like a difficult breakup. We wish Amanda all the best in her quest to find love, and we hope that Jack isn’t taking the spilt too hard.
